Cross the GAP
What Does It Mean to Cross the GAP?
There Has To Be More.
Maybe you’ve said it after achieving something you thought would finally make you feel satisfied.
Maybe you’ve felt it in the middle of a career that looks successful from the outside but no longer feels aligned on the inside.
Maybe it appeared during a transition, a disappointment, a loss, or one of those unexpected seasons when the life you had carefully constructed suddenly stopped making sense.
Or maybe nothing is particularly wrong.
You simply know—
There has to be more.
Not necessarily more success.
Not more achievement.
Not more possessions.
Not even more opportunities.
Something deeper.
A life that feels increasingly aligned with who you are, how you were designed, and what you were created to contribute.
That space between the life you’re living and the life you somehow know is possible?
That’s the GAP.
The GAP Isn’t Just Something Standing in Your Way
We usually think of gaps as problems.
Something is missing. Something isn’t working. Something needs to be fixed.
But what if the GAP is also an invitation?
What if the tension you’re experiencing isn’t simply pointing toward something that needs to change around you?
What if it’s revealing something waiting to change within you?
A belief that has limited what you thought was possible.
An assumption you’ve never questioned.
A gift you’ve underestimated.
An experience whose meaning you haven’t fully understood.
A capacity that hasn’t yet been developed.
Or a contribution that has been quietly waiting for you to recognize it.
The GAP can become the place where you stop asking only,
“How do I get from here to there?”
and begin asking,
“Who am I becoming in the crossing?”
Because the greatest distance between where you are and where you were created to be may not be measured in miles, money, accomplishments, or years.
It may be measured in perspective.
That’s Why I Wrote Cross the GAP
Cross the GAP wasn’t written to give you another formula for success.
It was written to help you recognize the patterns in your story, clarify your design, challenge the beliefs and assumptions that may be limiting you, and begin bringing your life and work into greater alignment with your purpose.
Throughout the journey, we’ll explore the intersection of your Identity, Capacity, and Productivity—and how those three dimensions help reveal your Unique Genius and release your Extraordinary, Abundant Contribution.
You don’t have to know exactly where the journey will lead.
You don’t have to have your purpose completely figured out.
You only need to recognize the GAP in front of you—and become willing to cross it.
THERE HAS TO BE MORE.
Perhaps the GAP is where you discover it.

The Journey Through the GAP
Crossing Changes More Than Your Circumstances
Once you recognize the GAP, it’s natural to want to close it as quickly as possible.
Find the answer. Make the decision. Change the job. Start the business. Repair the relationship. Develop the plan. Reach the goal.
But crossing a meaningful GAP is rarely just about changing your circumstances.
The deeper journey is about changing the person who meets those circumstances.
That’s why Cross the GAP isn’t simply a book about getting from where you are to where you want to be.
It’s about discovering who you are, what is possible through you, and what you were uniquely created to contribute.
Because sometimes the life on the other side of the GAP requires something more than a new strategy.
It requires a new way of seeing.
Identity — Who Am I?
Every crossing begins with identity.
Not your job title. Not the roles you play. Not the expectations others have placed upon you. And not simply the collection of accomplishments you’ve accumulated along the way.
Identity asks deeper questions.
What has shaped me?
What matters deeply to me?
What patterns keep appearing throughout my story?
What gifts, experiences, perspectives, and passions seem uniquely mine?
Your story contains clues.
Even the parts you might have dismissed, regretted, or struggled to understand can become important pieces of the larger picture.
The goal isn’t to invent a better version of yourself.
It’s to see more clearly the person who has been there all along—and the person you are still becoming.
Capacity — What Is Possible Through Me?
Knowing who you are isn’t enough if your beliefs continually restrict what you believe is possible.
All of us develop assumptions about ourselves, other people, opportunity, success, failure, money, relationships, purpose, and what we’re capable of becoming.
Some of those beliefs expand us.
Others quietly build walls around our lives.
Crossing the GAP requires learning to recognize those walls—and discovering which ones were never as permanent as we imagined.
As limiting mindsets and beliefs begin to change, capacity expands.
You begin seeing possibilities you couldn’t see before. You become willing to learn, experiment, risk, receive, collaborate, create, and grow.
And eventually the question changes from:
“Can I?”
to:
“What becomes possible if I do?”
Productivity — What Will I Do With It?
Discovery becomes meaningful when it becomes contribution.
Your gifts aren’t merely things to possess. Your experiences aren’t simply things that happened to you. Your growth isn’t intended to stop with you.
Eventually, what is developing within you needs somewhere to go.
Into a conversation.
A classroom.
A business.
A family.
A team.
A book.
A product.
A relationship.
A community.
A problem that needs solving or a person whose life can be made better because you showed up with something uniquely yours to give.
That’s productivity—not simply doing more, but increasingly doing what matters with what you’ve been given.
Where the Three Come Together
Something powerful begins happening as Identity, Capacity, and Productivity move into greater alignment.
You become clearer about who you are.
Your capacity to receive, develop, and express what’s within you expands.
And your actions increasingly reflect the contribution you were designed to make.
At that intersection, your Unique Genius becomes clearer.
And as that Unique Genius moves outward into the lives of others, it becomes your Extraordinary, Abundant Contribution.
Extraordinary because it carries the distinctive combination of your design, gifts, experiences, perspective, and potential.
Abundant because as limitations are broken and capacity expands, more can flow through you—creating increasing value beyond yourself.
That’s why the GAP matters.
The goal isn’t simply to reach the other side.
The crossing develops the person capable of living there.
CROSS THE GAP IS YOUR GUIDE THROUGH THE CROSSING
You don’t need another book telling you what your life should look like.
You need a framework that helps you examine your story, your beliefs, your design, your possibilities, and your contribution—and then begin connecting what you discover to the life you’re actually living.
That’s the journey inside Cross the GAP.

The Other Side of the GAP Is Contribution
The Journey Was Never Meant to End With You
There comes a point in every meaningful crossing when the question begins to change.
At first, the questions are personal:
Who am I?
Why am I here?
What is holding me back?
What could my life become?
Those questions matter.
But eventually another question emerges:
What will I do with what I’m discovering?
Because purpose isn’t simply something you find.
Purpose is something you live—and something you give.
The discoveries you make about yourself, the capacity you develop, the obstacles you overcome, the lessons you learn, and even the difficult chapters you’ve walked through can become part of something larger than your own story.
They can become part of your contribution.
Success Is Not the Final Destination
There is nothing wrong with achievement.
Build something meaningful. Develop your abilities. Create financial freedom. Pursue opportunities. Accomplish difficult things. Enjoy the rewards that come from doing excellent work.
But achievement alone can never answer the deepest question:
What was all of this for?
That’s where contribution changes the conversation.
Instead of measuring life only by what you’ve accumulated, accomplished, or experienced, you begin asking:
What is becoming possible for others because I was here?
That contribution may happen through your work, leadership, creativity, business, family, relationships, generosity, teaching, mentoring, service, or something that doesn’t even have a name yet.
It doesn’t have to look impressive.
It has to be yours.
Because the ultimate expression of your Unique Genius isn’t simply understanding what makes you different.
It’s giving what is uniquely yours to give.
One Crossing Leads to Another
There isn’t one GAP.
There are many.
You cross one and eventually discover another.
A new season begins. A relationship changes. An opportunity appears. An old belief surfaces. A dream expands. A door closes. Something that once seemed impossible suddenly becomes imaginable.
And once again, life asks you to grow.
That’s why Cross the GAP isn’t ultimately about arriving at some perfect destination where every question has been answered.
It’s about learning how to cross.
How to recognize the GAP.
How to understand what it may be revealing.
How to challenge what has limited you.
How to develop the capacity the next season requires.
How to move what is within you outward into meaningful contribution.
And then—
how to keep crossing.
The Book Is the Beginning, Not the End
Cross the GAP provides the foundational framework for this journey, but it was never intended to stand alone.
The book leads naturally into the larger GAP Crossers ecosystem.
The School of Purpose provides a place to continue the work—moving more deeply into discovery, development, application, and contribution.
Our media, conversations, tools, resources, community, and future experiences are being built around the same purpose: helping people continue crossing their own GAPs while increasingly becoming equipped to help others cross theirs.
Because eventually something remarkable can happen.
The person who needed help crossing becomes someone capable of helping another person cross.
The learner becomes a teacher.
The person searching for clarity becomes someone who brings clarity.
The person whose capacity was expanded begins expanding possibility for others.
And the person who once whispered—
“There has to be more.”
begins living an answer to that question.
Your GAP Is Waiting
You don’t need to know exactly where the journey will take you.
You don’t need every answer before you begin.
And you don’t need to become someone else in order to make a contribution that matters.
The journey begins with discovering more fully who you already are, what can become possible through you, and what you have been uniquely prepared to give.
Cross the GAP was written to help you begin that journey.
THERE HAS TO BE MORE.
Let’s discover what “more” looks like for you.
